Here are some of the most commonly asked questions we’ve received from our customers. If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for, please reach out and we will get back to you shortly.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

We are a home-based bakery located at 5659 Idaho Dr., Bettendorf, IA 52722. This is a residential location so we are not open to the public except for previously scheduled order pick-ups. We are licensed by the Scott County Iowa Health Department. 

DO YOU OFFER GLUTEN FREE/DAIRY FREE/NUT FREE?

We do offer gluten and dairy free options upon request! However, we are not an allergen free kitchen so do not offer gluten or nut free products. Ingredients and baking equipment are prepared in a home kitchen that may come in to contact with milk, wheat, nuts, eggs or other allergens. We advise against placing a purchase with our bakery if you have a severe or life threatening food allergy. 

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I PLACE AN ORDER?

It’s never too early to place your order!  Our order book often fills up quickly and there are times that we will have to stop taking orders, this is especially likely to occur around holidays.

Online Orders:  Online orders MUST be placed at least 2 days prior to your desired pick up date.

Custom Wedding Orders:  We highly recommend placing orders for your wedding at least 6 months in advance to secure your desired pick-up/delivery date. We are booked for 2023 and only accepting dates for 2024.

Last-Minute Help:  We typically have a few different cupcake flavors available for those times when you just need something simple quickly.  Please call or message the bakery directly to inquire about what is currently available.

CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO MY ORDER?

 It’s always better to ask than to assume that it’s not possible.  Most changes will be accepted until 1 week prior to the pickup date (unless otherwise noted on the invoice). 

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept Cash, Checks, Credit/Debit Cards, PayPal (info@thesweetspotqc.com), and Venmo (@TheSweetSpotQC)

We are no longer accepting new orders for custom cakes unless it's a small wedding or a smash cake. We do have several cakes that can be ordered online and customized with a message and different frosting/sprinkle colors, just add a note when ordering and we will do our best to accommodate

DO YOU MAKE CUSTOMS CAKES?

Yes! We are accepting a limited number of custom cake orders. We recommend placing your order at least 4 weeks in advance to secure availability. Our specialty cakes can be customized to some extent, such as adding specific wording or colors. For a quote, please fill out this Contact form.

DO YOU HAVE ANY VEGAN OPTIONS?

DO YOU DELIVER?

Delivery is available only for weddings and other large events. If your event qualifies, delivery fees will vary based on the location. Please reach out for a quote and availability.

HOW SHOULD I STORE MY CAKE OR DESSERTS TO ENSURE FRESHNESS? 

To keep your desserts fresh, follow these storage guidelines:

Cakes: Store in the refrigerator if not serving within a few hours. Bring to room temperature before serving for the best flavor and texture. Keep covered to prevent drying out.

Cupcakes & Whoopie Pies: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for longer freshness.

Cookies & Brownie Bites: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For extended storage, freeze in a sealed container.

Mini Cheesecakes: Always store in the refrigerator and consume within 3–5 days for the best taste.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

​If you need to reschedule, we will do our best to accommodate based on availability. Please reach out as soon as possible with any changes.

  • Orders canceled 14+ days before pickup date– Eligible for a full refund.

  • Orders canceled 7–13 days before pickup date – 50% refund.

  • Orders canceled less than 7 days before the event – No refund, as preparation has already begun.

For wedding or large event orders:

  • Deposits are non-refundable.

  • Final payments are due 2 weeks before the event and are non-refundable after that point.
